For Her has no server, no user accounts and no analytics. Everything you enter is written to your own device and stays there. We cannot read it, because it never reaches us.
What the app stores
For Her keeps the following on your device so the app can work between launches:
- The first name you enter for the person you're remembering
- The dates you add — anniversary, birthday, the day you met, and any others
- The gestures you selected and the reminders you scheduled
- Your history of logged gestures
- Your preferred nudge time and app settings
- Your answer to "where did you hear about us?", if you gave one
This is written to your device's local app storage. It is not transmitted, synced, backed up to us, or shared with anyone. Uninstalling the app removes it. You can also erase everything from within the app at any time — Settings → Start over.
What we collect
Nothing. The app makes no network requests of its own. There is no account to create, no sign-in, no cloud sync, and no crash or analytics SDK bundled into the app. We do not collect your name, email address, contacts, location, advertising identifier, or usage data.
Because we never receive your data, we have nothing to sell, share, disclose to third parties, or hand over in response to a request.
Notifications
Reminders are local notifications, scheduled by the app on your device and delivered by iOS. They are not push notifications — no reminder text, name, or date is sent to us or to any push server. If you decline notification permission the app still works; you simply won't be nudged.
Face ID
You can optionally lock the app behind Face ID. Authentication is handled entirely by iOS. The app is told only whether the check succeeded — it never receives, sees, or stores your biometric data, and neither do we. Apple's Secure Enclave holds that information and does not release it to apps.
Purchases
The free trial and the yearly subscription are handled by Apple's In-App Purchase system. Payment details go to Apple, never to us — we never see your card number, billing address, or Apple Account details. Apple tells the app only whether you have an active entitlement.
Apple's handling of that transaction is covered by the Apple Privacy Policy. To manage or cancel a subscription, use Settings → your name → Subscriptions on your device.
Children
For Her is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. Since the app collects no information from anyone, there is nothing for us to delete on request.
Your rights
Privacy laws such as the GDPR and the CCPA give you rights to access, correct, export, and delete the personal data a company holds about you. We hold none, so there is no request to make of us. Your data lives on your device and is fully under your control: view and edit it in the app, or erase all of it with Settings → Start over.
Changes to this policy
If the app ever gains a feature that changes how data is handled, this page will be updated before that version ships, and the date at the top will change. Material changes will also be noted in the App Store release notes.
